How to count how many of each product was ordered?

"how many of each item the group chose"- Google Docs Editors Community

This is a common question from people who collect lunch orders on Google Forms and 72 people on Google's forum have asked it. For example, if you're collecting a lunch order for a group, you need a count of each item before you call the caterer. The summary tab gives you a chart for every question and a Sheet needs a formula you have to write and fix. One slip and someone goes without lunch. With Neartail, you can open one report that adds up everyone's orders. Sales by product shows how many of each item the group chose. Even better, you can download that count as a PDF and send it to your caterer.

Let's start. Create your order form and follow the steps below.

1. Name your order form

On the page that opens, click Enter your form name, type your form's name, click Generate and wait about a minute. Check the outline it suggests and click Proceed. Once you create the form, you will land on the form's Edit tab. If it asks "Do you want to preview this form?", click No. Click on each product and check its name and price, because a generated product can have no name and a price of 0.

2. Send the link to your group

In your form, click SHARE, click Link, click Copy and send the link to your group. Each person opens it and orders what they want.

3. Open Sales by product

When the group has ordered, click ORDERS, then Sales by product. The report opens on the year, with an arrow on each side of it.

Summary

If you need a count of each item before you call the caterer, Google's summary charts and a Sheet formula both leave room for mistakes. With Neartail, Sales by product adds up everyone's orders and shows how many of each item the group chose. Create your order form and complete the steps above.
