How to assign points for likert scale question?

This is a common question from people who collect feedback in Google Forms. For example, you might collect feedback on a 5 point likert scale, where each answer is worth a different number of points. A quiz in Google Forms treats an answer as correct or wrong, so it cannot give 5 points to one answer and 4 to the next. You end up scoring each response by hand. With Formfacade, you can assign different points for the answer choices in the multiple choice question and calculate the score. Each response will come with its own score. Even better, you can sync the responses to Google Sheets with the score in its own column, so you can sort them and call the unhappy customers first.

Let's start. Create your form and follow the steps below.

Let's change this form into a simple form to collect feedback on ordering experience. We will use a multiple choice question with a 5 point likert scale to measure customer satisfaction.
  • Extremely satisfied = 5
  • Somewhat satisfied = 4
  • Neutral = 3
  • Somewhat dissatisfied = 2
  • Extremely dissatisfied = 1
  • Click on a multiple choice question in the Edit page and enter these answer choices. Delete the questions you do not need.
  • In the Edit page, click on the question, then click on the gear icon.
The Ordering experience feedback form on the EDIT tab with the likert scale question selected and EDIT, the question and the gear at the bottom of its card marked
  • Question settings page will be displayed. Click Answer. Assign points for the different answer choices and click Save.
The Answer tab with Assign points for each choice from Extremely satisfied = 5 to Extremely dissatisfied = 1 and Answer, the first points box and Save marked
Click on "Share" tab, copy the link and open it to fill the form. The Score changes as you answer. When you submit, you will see "Your total score is" followed by your score.

Summary

If each answer on your likert scale needs its own points, a quiz in Google Forms cannot do it. With Formfacade, you assign points for the different answer choices and the score is calculated when a user fills the form. Create your form and complete the steps above.
